A video of a 94-year-old grandma being carried to a bank for face recognition to activate her social security card in Guangshui, Central China's Hubei Province, has sparked heated debate on the internet, once again drawing attention to the difficulties elderly people face in using smart technology.

Este programa, que inicia en 2015, promueve la inclusión digital de personas jubiladas de todo el país. Para ello, ha entregado de forma gratuita una tablet con una interfaz especialmente desarrollada que busca ser intuitiva y amigable para la población destinataria. En este contexto se realizaron talleres de capacitación en la Intendencia de Montevideo a cargo de equipos del plan Ceibal y con el apoyo de funcionarios y funcionarias de BPS, quienes concurrieron a los complejos habitacionales para capacitar a las personas jubiladas que allí residen.

Croatia: Stop COVID-19 application now works cross-border

Government of the Republic of Croatia (19.11.2020) Cross-border data exchange between the Croatian Stop COVID-19 application and official applications of other EU member states has been established. This makes Croatia the seventh EU country in a row, along with Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia and Spain, which exchanges "infected keys" through the federation gateway (European Federation Gateway Service) and thus enables anonymous notification of foreign contacts about the risk of infection.

Poland: Quarantine and Isolation Statement

Gov.pl website (02.12.2020) Insured persons in quarantine or isolation (including at home) are entitled to sickness benefits. In principle, you do not need to submit a declaration to receive the benefit. The IT system of the e-Health Center is a system from which the Social Insurance Institution obtains information about the imposed quarantine or isolation and places it on the Electronic Services Platform (PUE ZUS) . It is seen both by the insured and his employer.

Japan: Business Sustainable Subsidy

Jizokuka-kyufukin (01.09.2020) One time subsidy for small and medium-sized enterprises and sole proprietors whose  sales of any month from January to December reduced by at least 50% compared to that of last year. The amount is 2,000,000 yen maximum for SMEs, and 1,000,000 yen maximum for sole proprietors including freelances. Application can be done online during 1st May 2020 to 15th January 2021.
