The Central Provident Fund Board sought to help Singaporeans reaching age 55 understand our schemes and policies better, so that they can be more prepared as they approach retirement.

To do so, we created a new personalised face-to-face retirement planning service to educate Singaporeans and brought our services to the heartlands.

We measure the success of this new service based on the Singaporeans’ increased understanding of their retirement options and the likelihood of them recommending the service to other Singaporeans.

#ICanAdult was a digital campaign by the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board. It aimed to reach out and pique the millennials’ interest on the benefits of planning for the future. To achieve this, the Board deployed its strategy to tailor and deliver content that is simple and relatable, and thus relevant to their lives. We leveraged on the trend of “adulting”—where millennials share their struggles of taking on adult responsibilities on social media—in a bid to create a movement to turn the conversation around from avoiding adult responsibilities to #ICanAdult.

Performing pre-recruitment medical examinations or performing it during the first year of employment of the worker is necessary to assess the physical and mental capacity of the worker. In this regard: 1- The medical booklets of all of the main insured are issued with the validity of 2 month to make them undergo the medical examinations. 2- All the main insured persons with less than 1 year of employment and contribution payment in the last workplace who apply for receiving short-term liabilities shall undergo medical examinations or their situation in this regard shall be determined.

In line with ISSA guideline on communication, Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) has planned to play more active role to interact with its social partners. In this regard, plan of retraining workshops on laws and regulations of social security as well as labor law and also appreciating selected employers and entrepreneurs have implemented since 2015.

Social Security Law of Iran was enacted in 1977, but its circulars are very outspread and complicated. For solving this problem, we have planned a project in order to consolidate the existing circulars. For this purpose, we have created a main consoliding council and 40 workgroups. Until now, we have summarized and consolidated approximmately 500 circulars into 10 summarized and consolidated circulars

According to the law on “Family Protection” which came into force in April 2013, if the widow(es) of a deceased insured man gets/get married, her/their entitlement to survivors benefit wouldn’t cease anymore, and the benefit that has been stopped for that reason could be awarded again from the abovementioned date

Regarding the provisions on insurance coverage extension to female-headed households which are supported by “Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation” (IKRF) and “State Welfare Organization”(SWO) with the aim of reducing poverty and avoiding social injuries, the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) launched to provide the self-employed insurance coverage to the above-mentioned households since 2011, in the case of being introduced by relevant protective entities (IKRF & SWO).

Training workshops on common diseases in ageing period of life-cycle Ageing trend as a reality of the society is attracting attention in many countries. As regards the emerging health care necessities of the ageing population, the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) has designed and implemented a plan including training workshops to improve knowledge of its pensioners who are mostly over 60, and also enable them to be more active and sensible to their health status.

The insured people who are 60 years old (for men) or 55 (for women) with at least 10 years of contribution payment, can receive adjusted benefits according to the years of contribution. Those with less than 10 years of past contribution years can pay the difference and become eligible to reduced pension benefit. Similarly, those who are recognized as disabled by pertinent authorities but were not eligible to receive the disability pension benefit, by paying the difference up to 10 year-contribution, would be eligible to receive reduced disability benefit with no age requirements

The General Organization for Social Insurance "GOSI" in Saudi Arabia broadly covers workers in private sector and a group of workers in public sector who are not covered by the Public Pension Agency "PPA". GOSI has a strategic objective, which is to enhance participation and coverage in insurance schemes, and this is aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030 to reduce unemployment rates, enhance practical experiences of the youth and encourage them to explore freelance work.

As part of the General organization for Social Insurance "GOSI” strategic objective to improve customer satisfaction and to continue the efforts in improving the social insurance benefits, in line with the Saudi vision 2030, which aims to improve transparency, efficiency and effectiveness of regulation and improve the public sector engagement with key stakeholders.

As part of its vision and strategy, the General Organization for Social Insurance “GOSI” recognized the need to find a program that protects workers in the private sector from the risk of being unemployed due to circumstances beyond their control, which would lead to some negative social, economic and psychological effects. The Unemployment Insurance Law “SANED” has been approved by royal decree and launched in 2014. SANED provides: • A monthly source of income during the transition period between the previous job and the chance to get a new job.

Improving the public awareness of different groups of society on social security concepts, social security law, as well as benefits and services of the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) has always been one of the main concerns of the ISSO. Accordingly, development of cultural communication and establishment of social dialogue between the ISSO and educational centers of the country came in to one of the priorities of related departments of the ISSO.

The Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) launched the recreative sports program called “Nasim-e-Salamt” (means Blowing of Health) in 2014, in conformity with the motto of the World Health Day 2012: “Good health adds life to years”, for the ISSO pensioners in two categories: 1- Public sports. 2- Organizing cultural-sportive championships. The program is targeted to promote the physically exercise spirit among old-age pensioners in order to improve their health status as well as preventing the typical old-age diseases.

One of the main tasks of the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) is providing the contributors with health services whether directly (through the ISSO owned health centers) or indirectly (through the health contractors). With regard to the increasing demand of health services and emerged problems in this field, especially in the process of patients admission to visit doctors and other service providers (laboratory, radiology and …) in the ISSO owned health centers, the ISSO decided to keep pace with technology and offer e-admission to the patients.

Eliminating the overlaps of insurance periods for those with at least two simultaneous insurance relation in the same period of time (at least one day) in different insurance branches of the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) is implemented to prevent illegal receiving of one benefit and also to promote quality, effectiveness and efficiency of the social security services focused on registration and individual accounts section.

According to the ISSA guidelines on communication, the social security organizations need to prepare correct channels to have effective relation with social partners. To meet these increasingly important need and because of lack of effective channels, Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) developed the plan of “Comprehensive Communication System” in 2015. More than 42 million people covered by the ISSO are in a widespread range of educational, cultural, socio-economic, income and age levels.

In recent years, several issues such as environmental evolution, uncertainty about future, costs increase, expansion of the organizations and legal constrains have made the organizations to change their paradigm. In this regard, the preliminary idea of outsourcing the social security services was introduced by the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) in 1995 in order to prevent the expansion of executive sectors of the ISSO, decreasing the administrative and staffing costs, facilitating and accelerating the insured and employers affairs to increase the social partners satisfaction.

Regarding the vision of Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO), based on developing e-services, aiming at minimizing in-person visits and providing the clients with internet based services, after consulting with lots of experts and pundits, a package of different services in different sectors were prepared and gradually offered to the beneficiaries. Initially, some of them were introduced as a trial plan in miniature scale in selected ISSO insurance branches and then were completed and handed in after improvement.

As regards the Islamic culture, going on a pilgrimage to holy shrines is a great strategy to meet spiritual needs of human beings for achieving inner peace. Accordingly, the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) has planned and provided the advantage of taking the ISSO old- age pensioners to pilgrimage journeys to the Holy shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad city since 2015, in order to promote their spiritual and moral revival development.

According to ILO Conventions including No. 19- Equality of Treatment (accident compensation), No. 118- Equality of Treatment (social security), and No. 157- Maintenance of social security rights, providing equal access to social security protection for the migrants has always been one of the major concerns of the Iranian Social Security Organization(ISSO).
