Uruguay: Autorizaciones especiales de cobro en junio para mayores de 65 años

bps.gub.uy (21.05.2020) Debido a que continúa la situación de emergencia sanitaria, BPS vuelve a dar la posibilidad a quienes tengan 65 años o más y cobren sus prestaciones en redes de cobranza descentralizada o en locales de pago del BPS, que puedan autorizar a otra persona a cobrar sus prestaciones en junio, a través de un sencillo trámite telefónico o por Whatsapp.

As described in CGAP’s new publication, “The Future of G2P Payments: Expanding Customer Choice,” modern approaches of transferring cash assistance can reduce costs for governments, significantly improve recipients’ access to payments and bring digital G2P one step closer to becoming the large-scale conduit for financial inclusion that observers have always hoped it would be.

The Future of G2P Payments: Expanding Customer Choice – G2P Network

Many low-income country governments have begun to digitize government-to-person (G2P) payments by making electronic transfers directly into the accounts of individual customers.

While digitization has helped to fill the gaps in delivery, further advances are needed. Building modern payments systems can: Improve the customer experience by allowing customers to choose which providers and accounts they use to receive funds; they have a wider array of service points from which to withdraw cash; and they can switch providers.

Viet Nam: Online services and hotline to support social security claims

vss.gov.fv (25.05.2020) The Government Office has asked Viet Nam Social Security and localities’ People’s Committees to direct their subsidiaries to help workers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic to complete administrative procedures and access online public services. Viet Nam Social Security’s hotline at 19009068 is in charge of helping people completing dossiers or redirecting calls to the national public service portal’s hotline at 18001096 for further assistance.

Slovakia: Extension of parental allowance

Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family (17.07.2020) In times of crisis, we are extending parental allowance to parents who lost their entitlement to it in March 2020 and later, have no job to return to, and have no other income. We will pay him until the end of the emergency. The parental allowance will be paid in the same amount as it was provided, until the end of the crisis situation.

Al Jazeera (07.07.2020) Burundi has launched a campaign of mass testing for the coronavirus in the country's largest city, in a significant shift in policy for a nation which has largely ignored the dangers of the outbreak.

Many Bujumbura residents, including students, participated in the screening in three centres in the north, centre and south of the commercial capital on Monday.
