Finland: Several temporary changes to the unemployment laws extended to 31 March 2021

Self-employed persons will remain eligible for labour market subsidy payments until 31 March 2021 if their business has suffered due to the coronavirus epidemic. Higher exempt amounts of EUR 500 and EUR 465 will remain in force until the end of March 2021. Exceptions made to the rules on waiting periods, work requirements and maximum length of payment will expire at the end of 2020.

Solomon Islands: National Provident Fund - SINPF Covid 19 Exemption Orders Ends

National Provident Fund (30.06.2020) The implementation of the Solomon Islands National Provident Fund Exemption Order expired on 30 June 2020. As from 1st July 2020 no new applications will be accepted. Implemented since 1st April 2020, eligible members who qualified under the exemption order were able to access part of their contributions during the period; 1) as a result of them being temporary laid off, 2) made redundancies during the period, 3) are unemployed and living in the declared emergency zone, 4) and those above 50 years who would want to draw part of their contributions.

Australia: Changes to eligibility for some income support payments after 25 September 2020

Services Australia (21.07.2020) The income free area for JobSeeker Payment and Youth Allowance for job seekers will increase to $300 per fortnight. The income free area is currently $106 for JobSeeker Payment and $143 for Youth Allowance. This means you can earn more but still get the maximum payment rates. If you earn above $300 per fortnight, your payment reduces by 60 cents for each dollar over this amount. From 25 September 2020, means testing will be reintroduced. This includes asset testing for all payments.
