Submitted by siha on Thu, 08/06/2020 - 12:22

Asean Briefing (05.08.2020) Under the fifth stimulus package, the government has extended its financial support for private sector employees, in particular, those in the garment, textiles, and footwear industries. Introduced under the previous stimulus package, companies who want to suspend employment contracts must first submit an application to the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training (MLVT). The suspended employees are then eligible to receive monthly subsidies. This program has now been extended through the latest economic package until September 2020.

Benin: Social measures Covid-19 in Benin: The transfers made

Submitted by siha on Mon, 07/13/2020 - 13:28

Government of the Republic of Benin (10.07.2020) The majority of beneficiaries exercising certain trades who were impacted by the restrictive measures to fight against the spread of corona virus have started receiving a subsidy via cash transfers on their mobile phones.

There are differences in the grants. They depend on three things: whether the activity is formal or not; the geographical location of the activity (does the person work in large cities or not) and also what was declared in terms of loss of income during the period of implementation of these restrictive measures.

Submitted by dfabbri on Mon, 09/16/2019 - 09:01

WIRED (11.09.2019) A bill passed by California lawmakers Wednesday could put guardrails on the gig economy and its reliance on “independent contractors.” The legislation, Assembly Bill 5, may reshape the way some of the state’s marquee companies—including Uber, Lyft, and DoorDash—as well as many janitorial services, truckers, and musicians do business.

Non au retour du tâcheronnage ! | Alternatives Economiques

Submitted by gfilhon on Thu, 07/04/2019 - 10:56
