WHO/Europe  (May 2018) What are “public health services”? Countries across Europe understand what they are, or what they should include, differently. This study describes the experiences of nine countries, detailing the ways they have opted to organize and finance public health services and train and employ their public health workforce. It covers England, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden, Poland and the Republic of Moldova, and aims to give insights into current practice that will support decision-makers in their efforts to strengthen public health capacities and services.

Junto con una delimitación necesaria de la subregión, se abordan primero los aspectos destacados y tendencias de la migración internacional, con información sobre “stocks” y sobre algunos flujos. Luego se describe la problemática de la gestión y gobernanza de las migraciones, revisando los espacios multilaterales, el papel de las organizaciones de la sociedad civil y las posibilidades próximas de una gobernanza migratoria. A continuación se analizan varios temas del debate global desde la mirada subregional. Finalmente, se examinan las especificidades de las problemáticas subregionales, en donde se abordan situaciones que pueden favorecer o complicar la atención que requiere del Caribe dentro del pacto.

En este documento e analizan las tendencias migratorias de América del Sur en el contexto de distintos factores determinantes y según diversas fuentes de información. Se establecen los grandes patrones migratorios y algunas de sus especificidades, teniendo presente los cambios en las dinámicas migratorias. Se destaca que en los países de esta subregión la protección de los derechos de los migrantes constituye un horizonte normativo que adquiere vigencia y centralidad en la agenda política así como en la institucionalidad migratoria.
