[Report] WHO: How to make sense of health system efficiency comparisons?

WHO (01.03.2018) Improving health system efficiency is a compelling policy goal, especially in systems facing serious resource constraints. However, in order to improve efficiency we must know how to properly measure it. This new policy brief therefore proposes an analytic framework for understanding and interpreting many of the most common health care efficiency indicators.

Old-Age Disability in China: Implications for Long-Term Care Policies in the Coming Decades

Using logistic regressions and a prevalence ratio projection model, and considering international practices, this dissertation addresses three research questions: What are the key risk factors for old-age disability in China? What are the projected numbers of older adults with disabilities in China in future decades through 2050?

(February 2018) his research investigates the barriers which low-income and vulnerable families with children face in accessing poverty-targeted social assistance (Targeted Social Assistance, TSA and the State Child Allowance, SCA2) and special social services. It focuses on children living in households, rather than those residing in institutions. Moreover, with respect to special social services, the study primarily covers children with disabilities and those with limited capacities.

But the twenty-first century has been dubbed the African century (Wikipedia 2016). Tech Crunch, renowned technology media company, recently published an article entitled “The Future Is African” (Nash 2015), which aptly described how Africa is unleashing innovation by combining mobile and Web technology to lead the world in the twenty-first century.
