International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG)  -  (08.12.2021) This Policy Research Brief presents the reforms under way in the social protection systems of Tunisia and Morocco in light of the COVID-19 crisis. Although both countries have demonstrated political will and commitment to address coverage gaps, they still need to develop a proper legal framework and fiscal space to implement social protection floors in the coming years.

Tunisie: Mesures sociales en faveur des professions en chômage technique

businessnews.com.tn (31.03.2020) Le chef du gouvernement Elyes Fakhfakh, a présidé ce mardi 31 mars 2020, un conseil ministériel dédié à la mise en œuvre des mesures sociales annoncées concernant les aides financières et les mesures liées aux institutions et professions en chômage technique.   Selon un communiqué publié par la présidence du gouvernement, l'Etat fournira, par le biais de l'Union tunisienne de sécurité sociale, 60.000 colis de denrées alimentaires, qui seront livrés au domicile des bénéficiaires à partir du vendredi 3 avril et jusqu'à la fin du mois du Ramadan.

La Caisse nationale a appelé les non-salariés détenteurs d’une carte bancaire à ne pas se déplacer et à verser leurs cotisations sur le site internet de la CNSS : www.cnss.tn. Les employeurs qui détiennent un certificat électronique sont aussi appelés à souscrire à distance au service de déclaration des salaires et payer les cotisations sur le site internet également.

La CNSS a décidé de retarder de trois mois le paiement des cotisations devant être payées par les employeurs au titre du 2ème trimestre de 2020 au début du mois de juillet, à condition de préserver les postes d’emploi créés.

Tunisia, Palestine sign deal to advance social protection partnership

Xinhua (23.07.2019) A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked in Tunis between the Tunisian government and the Palestinian Authority to advance partnership in social protection, official TAP news agency reported Tuesday. The signing ceremony was attended by Tunisian Social Affairs Minister Mohamed Trabelsi and Palestinian Minister of Social Affairs Ahmed Majdalani.

Tunisia secures $175 million (in loans) from World Bank to invest in startups and digitization of social security and education systems
