Hospitals in Britain, several companies in Spain and 11 other countries have confirmed attacks to their systems. Patient information does not appear to have been stolen or compromised, according to the National Health Service of Britain.

Right Now: Security experts warned that the full impact of the audacious cyberattack that crippled 200,000 computers in more than 150 countries might be truly felt in the new workweek as workers return to their offices and turn back on their computers.

OECD (2015) Recently, large-scale digital security incidents with potential economic consequences have increased in frequency and sophistication, in a context where the digital environment has become essential to the functioning of the economy and a key enabler for growth, well-being and inclusiveness.

ITU(2017) This report is composed of a number of best practice reports on different aspects of cybersecurity. An analysis of an ITU’s cybersecurity awareness survey demonstrates that while a number of countries have to improve cybersecurity awareness, some do not, and those that do often do not target key segments of society. Strong attention is often paid to child online protection as a priority. Information related to the ITU’s Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) conducted is also provided.

At the 26th International Financial Congress, Sberbank and the Pension Fund entered into an agreement on interacting in the area of cybersecurity. The document was signed by Stanislav Kuznetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank and Alexey Ivanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation (PFRF).       

In accordance with this document, Sberbank and the PFRF will cooperate on cybersecurity on a mutually beneficial and pro-bono basis. The parties’ efforts will focus on counteracting cyber threats.
