Europa (28.06.2016) Today, the Commission published its summer edition of the Employment and Social Situation Quarterly review (ESSQR). The review confirmed an increase of the overall employment rate, for both the EU and the euro area – an increase representing 3 million more employed people in the EU than one year before.

Ireland: Pension holders face perfect storm after Brexit vote

Irish Times (28.06.2016) The economic fallout from Brexit has left many pension funds in tatters. The Irish pension schemes, which typically have about a 25 per cent equity exposure to UK and euro zone shares, were already under pressure prior to last week’s referendum. Many will now find themselves in deeper trouble.

Le Soleil (16.06.2016) Des acteurs de la santé, de la société civile, des autorités administratives, politiques, des dignitaires religieux, entre autres, se sont engagés devant le ministre de la Santé à porter le plaidoyer pour améliorer la santé de la mère et de l’enfant. Après leur déclaration, ils ont intégré l’Alliance nationale de plaidoyer sur la santé de la mère, de l’enfant et de l’adolescent. Cette alliance a été lancée, avant-hier, à Dakar, par le Pr Awa Marie Coll Seck, ministre de la Santé et de l’Action sociale.

La BAD consent 134,65 millions de dollars au Maroc

Le Matin (23.06.2016) C’est fait. La Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a approuvé, le 22 juin à Abidjan, un prêt de 134,65 millions de dollars pour l’appui à la gouvernance des secteurs sociaux au Maroc. Comme nous l’annoncions en exclusivité en février 2015, ce financement est destiné essentiellement à un Programme d’appui à la gouvernance de la protection sociale (PAGPS) visant à améliorer la protection sociale des Marocains.
