The National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) is responsible for administration and payment of eight benefit types: Retirement, Survival and Invalidity Pensions, Retirement and Survival Grants, Temporary and Permanent Disablement Benefits, and Refunds.Prior to the introduction of technology, benefit processing workflow took an average of 120 days. Revolutionizing hospital bills payments: Inception of e-claims processing
Up to June, 2014, the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) of Tanzania had accredited a total of 6,013 health care facilities throughout the country who lodge claims to the Fund on a monthly basis. Due to the challenges of prolonged claims delays, errors during claims processing and sky-high expenditures on invalid members, the Fund introduced e-claims processing in January 2012. -

Creation of AMO Areas in hospitals and referral health centres
In 2010, the government of Mali introduced a compulsory health insurance scheme with third-party payment for civil servants and workers to guarantee affordable health care.
In 2011, the National Sickness Insurance Fund (Caisse nationale d'assurance maladie (CNAM)) concluded agreements with all public agencies, in particular with hospitals, referral health centres and community health centres.

Social coverage for economically disadvantaged Gabonese
In the context of the introduction of mandatory health insurance in Gabon, the government was concerned about social coverage for its economically disadvantaged citizens. It was not politically or socially acceptable to establish health coverage that would exclude a large segment of the population. This raised the issue of the financing of their benefits. An innovative form of financing was thus found - specifically, an indirect earmarked tax referred to as the "mandatory health insurance fee".
