Croatia: Stop COVID-19 application now works cross-border

Government of the Republic of Croatia (19.11.2020) Cross-border data exchange between the Croatian Stop COVID-19 application and official applications of other EU member states has been established. This makes Croatia the seventh EU country in a row, along with Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia and Spain, which exchanges "infected keys" through the federation gateway (European Federation Gateway Service) and thus enables anonymous notification of foreign contacts about the risk of infection.

Croatia: Co-financing of pension insurance for seasonal workers

koronavirus.hr (17.03.2020) For employers in the hospitality and tourism industry there will be financial assistance for up to six months, and co-financing the cost of the extended pension insurance. The proposal is to extend the entitlements for a period longer than 6 months, and financial assistance may not be lower than the minimum wage, minus the compulsory insurance contributions (for 2020, it amounts to HRK 1,625.00). The cost of the extended pension insurance that the Institute can co-finance is HRK 664.39.

Croatia: Deferral of social security contributions

tpa-group (17.03.2020) Deferral of payment of social security contributions. The measure would be implemented by the amendment of the General Tax Act that would allow to the Minister of Finance to issue special regulations governing this area. Late penalty interest would not be charged during the deferral period and statute of limitation would not run.

Croatia: Wage subsidies to help companies retain employees

vlada.gov.hr (02.04.2020) The Government elaborated the April package of measures through several conclusions and decisions, as well as legislative proposals, such as amendments to the General Tax Law, the Budget Execution Act, and the Accounting Act, which it referred to for urgent parliamentary procedure.
