Malta: Parental benefit and Additional Unemployment Benefit will end on 3 July

THE MINISTRY OF THE FAMILY, CHILDREN'S RIGHTS AND SOCIAL  SOLIDARITY(04.06.2020)The temporary payment of the Parental Benefit and the Additional Unemployment Benefit for the time being will continue to be made weekly, but will be stopped with effect from Friday, 3 July 2020, which payment will then cover the period from -27 June to 3 July 2020.

The temporary payment of the Disability and Medical Benefit will be suspended with effect from tomorrow, Friday, 5 June 2020, which payment being made today covers the period from 30 May to 5 June 2020.

Labor (28.04.2020) The option for full time workers to move to part-time with government support will be extended to 31 August, from its original finish date on 1 June. The livelihoods of tens of thousands of employees have been protected since this support measure took effect, but the economic outlook has changed markedly in the month or so. The part-time option allows employees to reduce their hours or salary to as low as 25%, or 50% from July onwards, and top up their earnings with support from the Government.

Iceland: Payments in Quarantine

Taiwan: Labor subsidy for self-employed workers or workers without a certain employer

Israel: Temporary extension of period of eligibility for benefits recipients

National Insurance Institute of Israel (23.06.2020) National Insurance Institute have automatically extended the eligibility period of benefits recipients temporarily: The eligible recipients includes recipients of long-term care benefits, recipients of disability pension, disabled child benefit and attendance benefits, recipients of a work disability pension, and recipients of hostile actions casualty benefit. Japan: Increased maximum daily amount of Employment adjustment subsidy

Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (12.06.2020) The maximum daily amount per capita of employment adjustment subsidy is increased from 8.330 yen to 15,000 yen. In addition, the subsidy rate for small and medium-sized enterprises that tried to maintain employment without dismissing employees is increased from 9/10 to 10/10. 

During the emergency response period from April 1st to September 30th, special measures for employment adjustment subsidies will be implemented nationwide for business owners of all industries.

Canada: Providing a one-time tax-free payment for Old Age Security and Guaranteed Income Supplement

We are providing a one-time tax-free payment of $300 for seniors eligible for the Old Age Security (OAS) pension, with an additional $200 for seniors eligible for the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS).

This measure would give a total of $500 to individuals who are eligible to receive both the OAS and the GIS, and will help them cover increased costs caused by COVID-19.

You do not have to apply. This payment will be issued during the week of July 6.
