New Vision (08.05.2018) May 1st was yet another day for the world to commemorate Labour Day. Workers from all over the world are faced with different opportunities and challenges. When I was reflecting on the past Labour Day celebrations in Uganda, I noticed with concern that the debate on minimum wage did not take a centre stage as has always been the case.

Devex (03.01.2018)  Every week, the speaker presiding over Uganda’s 426-member parliament fields questions, comments, complaints, demands, and even threats regarding the uncertain future of Uganda’s elderly population, who have been left vulnerable after decades of difficulties. Since 2010, some districts of the country have benefited from a pilot pension scheme that has helped not only the ever-increasing aged population, but also the families they are often responsible for.

Uganda: Social Protection Investments Register High Returns

New Vision (25.11.2016) Investments in social protection have registered high returns and improved human development and labour productivity especially among the poor and vulnerable populations. This is according to the minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Janat Mukwaya in a statement.
