Electronic records

To enable the freedom of movement on the unified labour market of the EU, the Croatian Pension Insurance Institution (CPII) allows users to request and receive through the website (www.mirovinsko.hr) an electronic record (ERPS) of the data recorded in the CPII electronic database (information on the insuree's employment status).

Electronic death data exchange

The Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (CPII) receives the death data for Croatian pension beneficiaries residing abroad on the principle of delivered Life Certificates and letters received from the competent foreign pension institutions. That way, CPII receives the beneficiaries' death data after a certain delay thereby causing possible undue payments of pension amounts.

International Agreements System - SIACI

Until September 2008, the period for granting Social Welfare benefits between the MERCOSUR countries was very long, since the documents were sent by means of paper forms via conventional mail. For this reason, there was no automated control of the documentation sent or received, which prejudiced efficiency and compromised security, principally in regard of control and monitoring of the exchange of information, causing harm to those covered and generating high costs of managing the process.

Protecting the pension rights of workers through social security agreements

As globalization has enabled various kinds of international exchanges to take place more frequently, the number of companies entering into other markets, detached workers, and migrants have increased. Accordingly, an increase in pension contributions made overseas has followed. In this regard, the National Pension Service (NPS) promoted social security agreements with the aim of reducing the contribution burden on companies and dispatched workers while protecting eligibility for benefits that were made overseas.
