#ICanAdult

#ICanAdult was a digital campaign by the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board. It aimed to reach out and pique the millennials’ interest on the benefits of planning for the future. To achieve this, the Board deployed its strategy to tailor and deliver content that is simple and relatable, and thus relevant to their lives. We leveraged on the trend of “adulting”—where millennials share their struggles of taking on adult responsibilities on social media—in a bid to create a movement to turn the conversation around from avoiding adult responsibilities to #ICanAdult.

Pre-recruitment Medical Examinations

Performing pre-recruitment medical examinations or performing it during the first year of employment of the worker is necessary to assess the physical and mental capacity of the worker. In this regard: 1- The medical booklets of all of the main insured are issued with the validity of 2 month to make them undergo the medical examinations. 2- All the main insured persons with less than 1 year of employment and contribution payment in the last workplace who apply for receiving short-term liabilities shall undergo medical examinations or their situation in this regard shall be determined.

Consolidating and Summarizing Circulars

Social Security Law of Iran was enacted in 1977, but its circulars are very outspread and complicated. For solving this problem, we have planned a project in order to consolidate the existing circulars. For this purpose, we have created a main consoliding council and 40 workgroups. Until now, we have summarized and consolidated approximmately 500 circulars into 10 summarized and consolidated circulars

Family Protection Plan

According to the law on “Family Protection” which came into force in April 2013, if the widow(es) of a deceased insured man gets/get married, her/their entitlement to survivors benefit wouldn’t cease anymore, and the benefit that has been stopped for that reason could be awarded again from the abovementioned date

Insurance Coverage Extension to Female-headed Households

Regarding the provisions on insurance coverage extension to female-headed households which are supported by “Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation” (IKRF) and “State Welfare Organization”(SWO) with the aim of reducing poverty and avoiding social injuries, the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) launched to provide the self-employed insurance coverage to the above-mentioned households since 2011, in the case of being introduced by relevant protective entities (IKRF & SWO).

Health knowledge promotion of pensioners

Training workshops on common diseases in ageing period of life-cycle Ageing trend as a reality of the society is attracting attention in many countries. As regards the emerging health care necessities of the ageing population, the Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) has designed and implemented a plan including training workshops to improve knowledge of its pensioners who are mostly over 60, and also enable them to be more active and sensible to their health status.

Old-age Pension Coverage Extension

The insured people who are 60 years old (for men) or 55 (for women) with at least 10 years of contribution payment, can receive adjusted benefits according to the years of contribution. Those with less than 10 years of past contribution years can pay the difference and become eligible to reduced pension benefit. Similarly, those who are recognized as disabled by pertinent authorities but were not eligible to receive the disability pension benefit, by paying the difference up to 10 year-contribution, would be eligible to receive reduced disability benefit with no age requirements

Freelance Work Program

The General Organization for Social Insurance "GOSI" in Saudi Arabia broadly covers workers in private sector and a group of workers in public sector who are not covered by the Public Pension Agency "PPA". GOSI has a strategic objective, which is to enhance participation and coverage in insurance schemes, and this is aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030 to reduce unemployment rates, enhance practical experiences of the youth and encourage them to explore freelance work.
