The unexpected separation of Southern Sudan from Sudan had a significant impact on the total economy of the state since 75 per cent of oil revenues which is produced from the south fields has gone to the new country. This new situation led to rapid declining in the rate of exchange of local currency and consequently weakens the value of our pensions. Immediate actions had to be taken in order to minimize the poverty among pensioners. This is one side of our good practice, another side is the integrated efforts with the government to contribute in the total economy of the State in order to achieve some stability in the exchange rate, and here some successful agricultural schemes are developed. It is known that raising up the amount of monthly pensions is a decision that cannot be taken as a succor solution, therefore we found it important to support some basic needs of the pensioners. The support involves all pensioners in some items and some others are given when meeting the conditions. For this purpose a new department is established.
