Housing loans for persons with incapacities

The Housing Fund of the State Employees’ Social Security and Social Services Institute (Fondo de la Vivienda del Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado – FOVISSSTE), in collaboration with the State Employees’ Social Security and Social Services Institute’s (Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado – ISSSTE) “National Medical Center November 20”, promoted a pilot program to design an accessible, sustainable and quality housing prototype for people with different abilities.

This housing prototype was developed with the objective of becoming an eligible property in order to grant housing loans to families of beneficiaries with a family member who has a type of motor or visual impairment. It is a pillar of the inclusive public policy that reaffirms the mission of FOVISSSTE, the second largest home mortgage lender in Mexico.

On April 24, 2017, FOVISSSTE granted a loan to build accessible housing as part of the first phase of the “Real Navarra” pilot program in Pachuca, State of Hidalgo. The recipient was a beneficiary with a relative in a wheelchair. This funding allowed for more comfortable, safe and accessible mobility inside or outside the house.
