A project of Technical Cooperation between Developing Countries (Brazil and Mozambique) entitled "Modernization of Social Security of Mozambique", signed on December 3, 2010. Organizations involved:
Brazil:
- Secretariat of Social Security;
- National Institute of Social Security (INSS);
- Social Security Information and Technology Company (DATAPREV);
- Brazilian Agency for International Cooperation (ABC).
Mozambique:
- National Institute of Social Security of Mozambique (INSS-MZ);
- Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
The team working on the project contained a member of each institution at all times, even with institutional and personal changes, all the parties were always involved.
The foundation of Technical Cooperation projects is the exchange of experiences and information. In the case of this particular project, both countries exchanged technical expertise in Social Security management with visits, missions and training courses offered to their government employees.
After almost seven years, there is a new system in place in Mozambique (SISSMO), paper forms were replaced by computers and database and the numbers of workers protected began to increase. Also around 200 technicians received training in various subjects related to the modernization of the Social Security System.
