measures summary
In February, the government launched a Jobs Support Scheme to help companies defray wage costs through tax rebates and subsidies. The scheme gave wage subsidies of between 25 per cent and 75 per cent, depending on the sector, for the first $4,600 of gross monthly wages per local employee till the end of the year.
In April, it was announced that such scheme will be enhanced and cover up to 75 per cent of wages for all local employees, which means it will benefit all of Singapore’s 1.9 million local workers.
