Improving co-operation between the Unemployment Insurance Fund, the Regional Employment Service and the Swiss National Accident Insurance Fund

Co-operation and networking across institutions is an essential factor in successful occupational reinsertion. The customer (always an accident victim in the context of what follows) should be able to benefit from as comprehensive a service as possible from social insurance institutions.

www.safety-work.org: an international proposal for small enterprises and their partners

The web page "Safety and Work" (www.safety-work.org) - developed as part of the working programme for small and medium-sized enterprises of the ISSA’s Special Commission on Prevention - is currently operated and maintained by 21 international partners from seven different countries under the auspices of the BGN. It has been online since 2011 and is available in German, English, French, Italian and Spanish. The partners involved are from non-commercial organisations such as, for example, statutory insurers, employer and employee organisations and welfare organisations.

Classes with ZUS

The project “Classes with ZUS” is addressed to secondary schools. It aims to raise awareness of young Poles on the role of social security in their lives.

The project presents: social solidarity principles, practical knowledge on the functioning of the system, obligations of employers towards ZUS, employer-friendly solutions - e-ZUS.

The project includes 4 lessons with the materials for teachers and for students (multimedia presentations, videos, exercises and texts to deepen the knowledge): 

The redesign of the Canadian Retirement Income Calculator

In 2014, the Canadian Retirement Income Calculator (CRIC) was redesigned to align with the recent reforms to the public pension programmes while taking advantage of the latest web tools. The CRIC was transformed into a dynamic, mobile-accessible application which received much acclaim. In line with the Government of Canada's National Strategy for Financial Literacy, the modernized CRIC helps individuals plan for their retirement; and it promotes both financial literacy and awareness of Canada's public pensions.

Digital labour and social security documents - One-stop shop for data (digital payroll)

A joint project by the Federal Administration of Public Resources (AFIP) and the Ministry of Labour which simplifies employers' obligations and reduces the administrative burden related to "work" and "social security", ensuring the quality and consistency of information.

The application involves uploading a file each month, making it possible to fulfil all obligations in a single act and to obtain the following documents in digital form:

Campaign "Check, Measure and Move"

Under the process to improve medical services, the Mexican Social Security Institute (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS)) has designed and implemented the Integrated Health Programmes (PREVENIMSS) strategy, which is based on the use of preventive actions.

With the objective of strengthening its outreach, in 2013 IMSS designed the campaign "Chécate, Mídete, Muévete" (Check, Measure and Move) for the prevention and control of excess weight and obesity, considered to be one of the main public health problems in Mexico.

Protecting the pension rights of workers through social security agreements

As globalization has enabled various kinds of international exchanges to take place more frequently, the number of companies entering into other markets, detached workers, and migrants have increased. Accordingly, an increase in pension contributions made overseas has followed. In this regard, the National Pension Service (NPS) promoted social security agreements with the aim of reducing the contribution burden on companies and dispatched workers while protecting eligibility for benefits that were made overseas.
