Telephone and on-line medical consultation

This service was created to standardize the scheduling of medical consultations, by integrating communication technologies and institutional systems such as the on-line validation of rights. This contributes to the allocation of communities in the same medical unit, strengthening the concept of family medicine and reducing waiting times to access the service.

To date, there are 206 medical centres that operate with this system (out of 614 eligible centres, meeting the requirements of infrastructure and assigned population) reaching 9.8 million beneficiaries (78.7% of total beneficiaries); with a monthly average of 536.000 appointments scheduled so far during 2015, and 6.3 and 6.5 million, in 2013 and 2014, respectively. This service scheduled appointments at a determined date and time, with a specific doctor, in a clinic of the corresponding medical unit. This contributes to the provision of health care services to beneficiaries in a quick and timely manner.
