The National Prevention Programme for Different Branches of Activity formulates policies to prevent occupational risks in a multi-sectoral manner. In terms of risks and the impact of work accidents, the particularities of different branches of activity, both from goods and service industries, has motivated the Superintendency to undertake the initiative of launching this program.
The branches of activity included in this programme have been selected on the basis of those with the highest rates of incidence of work accidents and occupational diseases, and their strategic importance to the economy.
The working methodology consists in the establishment of multi-sectoral working committees in order to ensure a holistic view towards the description of the different production processes taking place within each branch of activity, as well as the workloads, risks and requirements associated to each process, and the proposal of good practices aimed at improving working conditions and work atmosphere.
Each working committee publishes a manual of best practices as an input for the primary prevention of occupational risks, contributing to theoverall safety culture at work.
