As a first attempt, the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI) prepared and adopted the first phase of its strategic plan to cover the period 2011-2015. In the final stage of strategic planning we took into account the principles of good governance in general and benchmarking with best practices from all over the world. Later - as this strategy was prepared to be flexible and dynamic - ISSA's good governance including: Good Governance Guidelines for the Board and Management, Principles and Guidelines for the Board, and Guideline 7 (Strategic planning).became part of the strategy.
Also, PASI's strategic plan depended on Principles and Guidelines for the Management 41, Accountability and Guideline 28 (Strategic planning).
PASI used strategic planning as an effective tool for serving and improving social coverage especially in its vision and mission for achieving excellence.
This is as per Guideline 45 and 46, which are about initiating the strategic planning process and developing a vision statement. Guidelines 48 and 49, which are about strategy implementation and strategy diagnosis and performance review respectively, were also applied in PASI's strategic plan.
