Gambia: NaNa Announces U.S.$10 Million Nafa Quick Package Targets 83,000 Households

The National Nutrition Agency (NaNA) on Monday announced a US$10 million Nafa Quick package aimed at contributing to the mitigation of the social and economic impact of COVID-19 on the population.
Nafa Quick is a government programme with the objectives of providing cash transfers (D1,500 per month) and behavioural change activities to poor households in 30 districts in the country; in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The money will be distributed to 83,000 households in 30 districts within the country. The Nafa Quick package will last for four months. The program would also include behavioural change and activities so as to improve households' health,nutrition,early childhood development,adolescence,parenting and family planning in order to prevent gender-based violence.
This is part of the Gambia Social Safety Net Project (GSSNP),a thirty-one million dollars ($31M) initiative sponsored by the World Bank ($30 million from the World Bank and $1million from the Government of The Gambia).
