Gobierno hará transferencias monetarias a 330.000 familias para compra de alimentos

The National Government, through the Food Security Policy, decided to implement the Ñangareko programme, which will consist of cash transfers for the purchase of food and hygiene products, to some 330,000 families, whose livelihoods are being affected by the quarantine measures imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). The financial assistance will consist of a G. 230,000 voucher to be managed through an electronic wallet, and the beneficiaries will be able to use the amount for the purchase of food in any premises that have enabled the electronic payment system of the telephone companies. It is aimed exclusively at day labourers, informal vendors and people in vulnerable situations who are not participating in the Tekoporã social and old-age pension programmes.
