Member organizations of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) that are involved in the management of employment insurance and assistance schemes, either directly or indirectly, comprise a broad and diverse group of social security institutions. In addition to evolving economic, demographic and labour market changes, new and significant challenges are being imposed on many of these organizations.
Work is critical to all dimensions of life, for citizens and for society; it is a key factor for economic productivity and wealth creation and contributes to social harmony and stability. Performing pre-recruitment medical examinations or performing it during the first year of employment of the worker is necessary to assess the physical and mental capacity of the worker. In this regard: 1- The medical booklets of all of the main insured are issued with the validity of 2 month to make them undergo the medical examinations. 2- All the main insured persons with less than 1 year of employment and contribution payment in the last workplace who apply for receiving short-term liabilities shall undergo medical examinations or their situation in this regard shall be determined.
The Korea Workers’ Compensation and Welfare Service(COMWEL) operates the following system as a strong shield for the protection of claim for wages of workers: The wage for the last three months in the month and for the last three years of retirement funds shall be given priority over other securities, taxes, and utility bills to be protected in the highest priority.

The Social Protection Longitudinal Survey (Encuesta Longitudinal de Protección Social – ELPS) was part of the “support program for better management of the social protection system”, which aims to strengthen the capacity to formulate and implement policies on social security, education, housing, employment, health, disability, and care among other things. Therefore, the conditions and capacities required to continue with future ELPS phases were generated, with the Social Insurance Bank (Banco de Previsión Social – BPS) as the managing institution.
