Nursing care focuses on providing timely, ongoing, efficient, and human care directed towards the service provider and the user's satisfaction, contributing to the quality of care services in The National Cardiovascular Institute (Instituto Nacional Cardiovascular (INCOR)), EsSalud.
Within the scope of the ongoing improvement of the Nursing Department's quality, INCOR set up a team to assess the quality of the care provided through nursing records, which identified different approaches and disjointed assistance processes due to a lack of protocols, procedure guides, and a theoretical framework. The outlined purpose is «Improving the quality of the nursing care by implementing a standardized registry in critical areas».
The implementation of a standardized registry using the NANDA, NOC, NIC taxonomies allowed for the connection of assistance processes, which resulted in good practices, time reduction, and spending efficiency.
This initiative includes a theoretical and practical model regarding nursing care with a human focus that satisfied both internal (90 %) and external (86 %) users, being a good practice duplicable to others.
