Toward achieving its vision and objectives as well as implementing its strategy, the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) initiated its transition towards an organization with an integrated performance management framework. GOSI has established the performance management project, which aims to develop individuals with the required commitment and competencies for working towards shared and meaningful objectives supported by and set in an efficient organizational framework.
Developed balanced scorecards (BSCs) that include objectives, KPIs (key perforrmance indicators), and initiatives for GOSI in all levels of the organization (corporate-divisions-departments) were the main outcomes of this project. All divisions and general departments have been aligned by cascading top level Balanced Scorecard (BSCs) to lower level organizational units. During the alignment, individualized goals,KPIs and strategic initiatives within the organization have been designed and GOSI - as an organization - can now progress on its journey towards performance excellence. It is worth mentioning that the ISSA Guidelines on Governance include some important guidelines on strategic planning. Specifically, guidelines 45 to 49 have served as a great resource for quality checking, and confirming that GOSI's approach is indeed a best practice.
