Improvement of benefits for members and beneficiaries

Although the National Pension and Occupational Risks Office for Civil Servants, Magistrates and Judicial Personnel (Office national des pensions et risques professionnels des fonctionnaires, des magistrats et des agents de l'ordre judiciaire (ONPR)) is a relatively young institution created in 2010, a system for improving services was established in January 2011 for members and beneficiaries in the following areas.

  • Pensions: monthly payment by the 25th of the month at the latest both of benefits to beneficiaries who paid no contributions and of the 1972 political crisis survivors allowance, allocation of 280 free points to all members, physical census of beneficiaries, granting a 13th month to beneficiaries.
  • Occupational risks: raising awareness about the accident prevention, making declaration forms available in every province in the country.
  • Communication: awareness tours, distribution of leaflets and calendars, press conferences, meetings with union representatives, website design.
  • Partnerships with social security institutions and signature of agreements to facilitate the payment of benefits and the re-establishment of rights.
  • Opening agencies in the interior of the country
  • Educating staff about social security in general and in the administration of the points system in particular.
