The Wage Protection System (WPS) is a joint programme between the Ministry of Labour (MOL) and the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), and it has been built to be the wage repository for all workers to assure wages are affectively deposited to workers bank accounts and are also reported correctly to GOSI. The system requires all employers to generate a wage file which is compliant with the WPS specification. Since its implementation, the system has had a great impact on the protection of workers' rights.  Wage related complaints have sharply decreased, and the gap between reported wages and actual wages has been narrowed significantly.
