The competent institutions support the mutual recognition of professional accreditations to facilitate the mobility of the labour force across countries.

  • The management should seek the development of equivalencies among categories of professional or trade designation to facilitate the recognition of designations acquired in other countries within the domestic labour market.
  • Where gaps are identified in the level of proficiency required from one jurisdiction to another, the institution should facilitate the bridging process through the provision of information, support to and partnership with the relevant accreditation organization.
  • The institution should encourage and support the negotiation of foreign accreditation recognition.
  • The management should consider whether such barriers exist at the subnational level and seek to reduce them.
