We passed through several stages of development, including the measures to expand the coverage, which can be summarized as follows:
- Allowing foreigners to contribute in the social security system.
- Allowing self-employed in all activities to contribute in the social security system.
The military pension system. In accordance with Law No.43 of 1974, shall be effective from 01/08/1974 includes all regular military. This system covers cash benefits of more than 40,000 pensioners ‒ there is certainly a correlation between the value of contributions paid, the length of service, and the value of the monetary benefit received by the beneficiary.
The social pension system. For those who have no breadwinner in accordance with Law No. 16 of 1985 (targeted poor families with cash pensions).
Disabled Affairs System. It has been established after a field study was conducted, that included collecting comprehensive data on all disabled in accordance with the conditions specified in Law No. 5 of 1980.
Social Care Home System. The last extension of coverage was applied by Law No. 20 of 2000.
