The staff secondment/attachment programme is an integral part of the good practice employed by the Group Internal Audit Department (GIA) to ensure knowledge and principles from these attachments are adopted with modifications to suit our business requirements.
The secondment of GIA staff to the Finance Department indicated GIA's maturity and its ability to assist critical business operations of the institution. Details of the attachment programmes are as follows:
1. Manager Internal Audit attachment at Employee Provident Fund (EPF) Malaysia.
2. Senior Internal Auditor attachment at EPF Malaysia.
3. Principal Internal Auditor secondment to Finance team as Acting Manager Finance.
As a result of the attachments, internal audit practices at FNPF have been benchmarked to international best practices in a similar industry and general conformance to the International Professional Practices Framework for Internal Auditing (IPPF Standards) has been achieved.
Major outcomes of the attachments are:
(i) Implementation of Audit Grading System;
(ii) Preparation of Fraud Control Management Plan and the establishment of Fraud Control Management & Ethics Committee (FMC) in the Fund; and
(iii) Adoption of root-cause analysis in audit reporting.
