The Social Security Regulatory Authority (SSRA) is actively using ICT to promote good practices in the social security sector in Tanzania.
	In early 2014, SSRA launched an Electronic Services Portal (ESP) that allows the trustees of social security schemes to obtain first-hand information on the compliance status of their schemes, and allows regulated entities to submit regulatory returns. The portal is supported by a robust internal architecture designed for electronic offsite monitoring activities.
	Through the portal, the trustees are able to view the trend in complaints brought against the scheme to SSRA, view the compliance status to various guidelines and regulations and to obtain information on training and courses that available to the trustees.
	The ESP offers two way communication between SSRA as a regulatory authority and the social security schemes, allowing the schemes to upload their quarterly returns that contain information that they are required to submit by law, and allows the trustees to obtain feedback from SSRA. The ESP is thus a tool that encourages transparency and accountability of the trustees of social security schemes in Tanzania.
