Integrating technology to improve operational processes

The National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP) is responsible for administration and payment of eight benefit types: Retirement, Survival and Invalidity Pensions, Retirement and Survival Grants, Temporary and Permanent Disablement Benefits, and Refunds.
 
Prior to the introduction of technology, benefit processing workflow took an average of 120 days. This was due to lack of, or inadequate paper records. Every department involved in the process had separate rules, some of which were counterproductive.

Dans le cadre de la réflexion sur la réforme du secteur de la retraite, la DAPS a développé, en partenariat avec un cabinet spécialisé, le progiciel « ATLAS ».

Utility maximisation from available medical specialists for health service improvement: An innopvative approach to increase quality of health services in hard to reach areas

The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) has accredited a wide range of health facilities many of which are currently ill-staffed. Unfortunately, the few available medical specialists would not want to work in areas other than cities and municipals. For this and other reasons, NHIF in 2012 incepted the Medical Out-reach Program (MO-P).

Creation of AMO Areas in hospitals and referral health centres

In 2010, the government of Mali introduced a compulsory health insurance scheme with third-party payment for civil servants and workers to guarantee affordable health care.

In 2011, the National Sickness Insurance Fund (Caisse nationale d'assurance maladie (CNAM)) concluded agreements with all public agencies, in particular with hospitals, referral health centres and community health centres.

Improvement of benefits for members and beneficiaries

Although the National Pension and Occupational Risks Office for Civil Servants, Magistrates and Judicial Personnel (Office national des pensions et risques professionnels des fonctionnaires, des magistrats et des agents de l'ordre judiciaire (ONPR)) is a relatively young institution created in 2010, a system for improving services was established in January 2011 for members and beneficiaries in the following areas.
