Structure of the ISSA Guidelines on Workplace Health Promotion

The guidance that follows is organized in three parts:

Part A, Basic Conditions for Workplace Health Promotion, deals with the structural issues to be addressed so that social security institutions can encourage and enable their clients – public and private sector enterprises and organizations – to develop comprehensive approaches to workplace health promotion.

Objectives of the ISSA Guidelines on Workplace Health Promotion

The information contained in these guidelines will provide social security institutions with a framework for action. In essence, they are a “how to” manual for developing and implementing sustainable, needs-based workplace health promotion (WHP) programmes in client organizations, be they private or public sector enterprises, agencies or organizations. The processes and procedures described are based on established good practice.

This set of guidelines has been developed to help social security institutions support and assist their “clients” – public and private sector enterprises and organizations – to develop comprehensive workplace health promotion (WHP) programmes.

Field Inspection Development "RASED"

This good practice allows employer, contributor, & the General Organization for Social Insurance "GOSI" to save effort & cost by completing the inspection's cycle electronically in a timely manner. In fact, we understand the importance role of inspection in enlightening the employers in applying the system, and regulations correctly in their entities. A new system RASED was integrated with GOSI main system to fetch all inspection data. Also, it will assign the field visits according to the best suitable available inspector.

Establishment & Operation of Workers’ Health Center to Promote Health for Vulnerable Group of Workers

KOSHA has established 42 Workers’ Health Center nationwide to provide professonal and complimentary health services for workers at workplace with less than 50 employees, who show higher prevalence of diseases based on health examinations and work under poorer environment prone to expose to more harmful factors. The services provided by the centers are health examination/consultation, work stress prevention and exercise prescription performed by professional manpower such as occupational and environmental medicine doctors, nurses, and clinical counsellors.
