Spinal injuries (paraplegic/tetraplegic patients) and/or traumatic brain injuries (cranial/brain trauma) confront not only the injured individual but also the family members, the service providers involved and the SUVA with great challenges.

The "ParaSuva" project places optimal co-operation between paraplegia clinics and the SUVA on the one hand and ongoing competent care for insured individuals in their personal exceptional situations on the other as the central focus to make surmounting these challenges more likely and thus as comfortable and successful as possible for those insured.

"ParaSuva" case management is the linchpin for all concerns surrounding in-patient rehabilitation in one of the four specialist rehabilitation clinics in Switzerland. "ParaSuva" case management looks after the insured individual and manages the case during the in-patient phase.

Accident victims can now be released more quickly from in-patient care and accompanied back to their accustomed environments as a result of the comprehensive care concept with time-limited confirmation of coverage for treatment and monitoring/support of all the measures necessary for successful reintegration after hospitalisation. One pleasant side-effect is the considerable saving in costs through these measures.
